Parking Team

Parking volunteers cover allocated areas, record every arriving vehicle and keep entrances, driveways and emergency access clear. Parking and Food volunteers rotate according to the lead's rota.

Record first · direct clearly · escalate quickly
Stay at your station: do not move to another area, take a break or help Food unless the Parking/Food Lead has approved it and arranged cover.

Parking running plan

Official parking areas

You will be allocated an area through the rota. Use these exact location names in the Parking Desk programme:

1Masjid car park
2Road entering masjid car park
3Oxford Road — bottom
4Oxford Road — middle
5Oxford Road — top (near school)
6Halifax Road (main road)
Record every vehicle

Arrival procedure

  1. Welcome the driver and ask which contestant or family the vehicle belongs to.
  2. Find and select the contestant in the Parking Desk programme.
  3. Enter the full vehicle registration accurately.
  4. Select the exact parking area. Add vehicle details if they will help identify it.
  5. Add a clear note if the car is close to a driveway, blocking something, parked unusually or needs special attention.
  6. Save the record before the driver leaves your point, then direct them to reception.

If a vehicle must move

  • Get the registration, exact location and reason the vehicle must move.
  • Tell the Parking Lead and reception. Reception can search the synchronised record and identify the linked contestant or guardian.
  • If a driveway or emergency route is blocked, treat it as urgent and stay nearby until the lead confirms it is resolved.
  • Do not argue with residents or drivers. Stay polite, record the facts and call the lead.
  • Never direct a driver into an unsafe or prohibited position simply because another area is busy.
Parking and Food rotation

The two teams rotate to reduce boredom and share the work fairly. The Parking/Food Lead controls the rota based on traffic, food preparation and the number of volunteers available.

Check the current rota and know who is replacing you before moving.
Give a handover of any expected cars, blocked areas or unresolved issue.
If parking is quiet, the lead may move volunteers to food setup, serving or cleanup.
If traffic increases, return to parking only when instructed by the lead.
